Due to the current distancing measures imposed in response to COVID-19, all activities normally held inside our church building have been suspended. We are currently holding "Drive-in" worship services in our parking lot at 10:30am on Sundays (unless there is bad weather), and all services are being live streamed at https://henderson-church-of-the-nazarene.freeonlinechurch.com/
What Can We Do?
Aside from washing our hands, staying home, and practicing social distancing, here are 5 things we believe the Church can and should be doing during this time:
Discern Between Hype and Reality – Sometimes we need to just turn the television off and listen to God. It’s important for us to look beyond sensationalism, politics, and media hype, and pay attention to what is sensible and reasonable. Let’s be the voice of reason to those who might be misled by all the hysteria.
Pray for an Opportunity to Share the Gospel with People who are Afraid of Dying – see the amazing opportunity that is in front of us during these days.
Fast and Pray for a Global Spiritual Awakening – As people all over the world are being confronted with our own human frailty and the uncertainty of life, and the pride of humanity is brought low, we believe the time is ripe for another great awakening.
Pray for Our Leaders – Neither our leaders in government or in the church have never faced anything quite like this. So pray that God would grant them a spirit of humility and wisdom.
Look for Ways to Love our Neighbor – When people are gripped by fear, they go into survival mode and there’s an attitude of every man for himself. In the midst of all this, those who are in Christ can shine like bright lights (Philippians 2:15) as we put others before ourselves and demonstrate the love of Christ Jesus.
